Menorah DrawingAfter a meeting in 2009 with the then Deputy Mayor Cr Graham Quirk the dream of a permanent giant Menorah for Brisbane began to become a reality.

Many meetings followed to find a location suitable for a large Menorah, but as soon as Reddacliff Place became an option, it seemed as if it was meant to be.

The next challenge was to find someone to design, build, wire, install etc. this masterpiece. Well the most generous hearted man and community supporter, Lewis Saragossi of G.James Australia had his team of designers, engeneers, weldors, electricians and everyone else in between, and the miracle of the Menorah happened.

MenorahWe at Chabad Brisbane are forever indebted to Lewis and the entire Saragossi family and his team at G.James for their support and true sensitivity to the importance of this Menorah.

After many years of "Chanukah in the Park" events with a Menorah being installed for a day, it was time for Brisbane to be "on the map" of Menorahs in City Centres around the globe. From New York's 13th Avenue to Sydney's Martin Place, from the White House lawn to outside the Kremlin, from Trafalger Square, London (and now) to Brisbane Australia.

The Menorah's inscription reads:

This Menorah was graciously donated
by the Saragossi family
in the everlasting memory of
JOSEPH SARAGOSSI
יוסף ב"ר אברהם ז"ל

Designed and build by G.James Glass & Aluminium.
